If you're still trying to figure out what to do with your child this summer to avoid summer brain drain (for both you and your child!), there are some really good free summer programs for kids to help fill the gaps. I just learned about a new program, called "Camp Sunny Patch" that I think we'll try out in our house.
It's run by educational toy company Melissa & Doug and is, according to their press release, "a week-by-week activity guide to a summer full of active, imaginative play."
Families can download the monthly calendar to get an idea of what activities are in store for the month and then follow along on the blog as those activities are fleshed out into more detail. Your child can even earn and print camp badges along the way. If you decided to check out Camp Sunny Patch, I'd love to hear your thoughts about it and I'll share mine, too.
What else are you doing with your child this summer?
